5Homework, Assignments, and Tests
- Homework
- All homework is copied into the agenda on a daily
basis and signed out by me. At the end of each
day I read over the agenda with them. - Tests and Assignments
- Students will be given plenty of notice for tests
and assignments. - All tests and assignments will be sent home for
signing and are expected to be returned promptly
by each student.
6Homework Policy
- In the event that a student does not complete
and/ or submit an assigned task, the grade 6
curriculum expectations will not be fulfilled and
therefore will result in the following
consequences - Late/Incomplete Assignment Slip
- Letter of concern and/ or phone call
- In-school detention (homework club)
- Parent/ Student/ Teacher conference
- Meeting with Principal (extreme cases)
7Agenda
- The agendas are valuable educational and
communication tools between the school and
families. - I strongly encourage you to review the agenda
nightly and sign it to ensure that it is used

8Absences
- Students are responsible for finding out what has
been assigned or missed in their absence from a
classmate or from me. - Notify me prior to any extended vacations or days
off so I can prepare homework to send home. - Tests and assignments are assigned well ahead of
time. If students are absent on the day of a
test, they will write the test immediately upon
their return to school unless otherwise specified
by me.

- Students marks will be generated mainly via
RUBRICS, not percentages. - On each rubric you will see the following sub

Level 1 2 3 4
Content Letters and handouts required are missing or irrelevant. Provides some of the required content missing one or two things. All letters and handouts are inside and are well written. All letters and handouts are inside and are exceptionally written.
Creativity No clear creativity or design at all. Limited creativity and design. Design and creativity are very good. Design and creativity exceeds expectations!
Organization Letters are absent or confusing Letters are Underdeveloped. Letters establishes the main ideas and answers all the questions from the outline. Letters establishes the main ideas and show an exceptional understanding of the writing process.
Spelling/ Grammar There is no proper spelling or grammar Some spelling and grammar is incorrect Spelling and grammar is well done. Spelling and Grammar is exceptional.

- To provide a complete educational experience for
your child. - We will keep you posted on any that we will be
participating in throughout the year. - Note Please provide your childs health card
on any permission form that we send home.
13EQAO
- Later this year, your child will be writing
Ontarios Education Standardized Testing. - DATE Last week of May, first week of June.
please avoid booking any vacations during this
time period - Will update you with information starting in the
