Trollhufsa Village
Once upon a time, in a day long ago, there lived
incredibly prolific storytellers. Their stories
have been passed down, retold, translated and
adapted. In Norway lives a particularly pleasant
little family of the Longtail trolls. They live
in Trollhufsa Village, surrounded by fairies on
the north side and human being on the west side.

Trollhufsa Village

• They live in hollow trees, mountain hidey-holes
  and mossy tussocks, deep in the woods where the
  mist forms a mysterious blanket over the tree
  roots and heather. The Longtail trolls are small,
  with bristly, sticky-up troll hair- and long,
  beautiful tails. They spend their time trolling,
  finding treasure and in between-they help the
  folk living on the farms thereabouts. Trolls
  prefer not to come face to face with humans. They
  have very different and special personalities -
  plus rather unusual, magical talents. Here comes
  a little presentation about the funny small
  creatures that live in the woods and mountains.

Meet The Longtail trolls

Leikny

• Leikny is a troll who brings luck wherever she
  goes. She grows four-leafed clover, which is what
  she makes her delicious clover tea out of. Many
  believe that it is the four-leafed clover tea
  which brings happiness, but the truth is that it
  is Leikny herself who with her magic transmits
  good fortune and happiness to anyone in need of
  it.

Sturla.

• There youll find the villages library, run
  by Sturla.. At Sturlas the trolls can find books
  on everything from troll spells to culinary arts.
  Of course, there are also reference books
  concerning how to handle hopeless and
  unmanageable humans and books on how to deal with
  elves and other strange creatures. (

If you ever come to Trollhufsa village, you will
soon notice a big tree stump right by the forest
grove.

Karoline and Arnt

• Karoline and Arnt are the world champions in
  troll dancing, something they have to be, since
  they are the only two who have mastered this kind
  of dancing. The other trolls are in fact not as
  advanced when they dance. They hop up and down
  and wave their arms and legs as it pleases them.

Sondre

• Its difficult to say how many times Sondre has
  been given a talking to for his crazy antics. He
  can be a prize fool and often goes way too far.
  The results are of course exactly what youd
  expect. Sondres tail lights up in the dark
  which can be useful once in a while. Sondre
  thinks this is boring and would much rather be
  able to fly.

Herman

• It doesnt take much before the words start
  to echo off the walls of the tree stump where
  Herman lives, and the other trolls often have a
  good laugh about all of the strange expressions
  he uses when he loses his temper. Herman works as
  an explosives expert on the mountain where the
  trolls mine their gold. For his magical ability
  is of a piece with his personality he can blow
  up objects into little pieces.

Longtail trolls are gentle and companionable
creatures. Herman is too, if one looks beyond his
being a little short-tempered.

Marvin

• There is no troll in the world who loves the moon
  more than Marvin Longtail troll. Every night he
  throws up a magical rope to the moon, and climbs
  up to visit the luminous planet. And while hes
  sitting on the moon, he sings such beautiful
  troll ballads that the moon and the stars sparkle
  and glitter with happiness. Marvin the
  moon-troll has, in addition, the ability to
  produce clouds.

Erik

• He has a warm heart and a rumbling laugh which is
  often heard coming out from the gold mines, where
  he works as excavation chief. In the blink of an
  eye Eriks tail can produce a rain cloud which
  rain pours down from. He doesnt hesitate to make
  rain clouds now and again over those trolls who
  might consider having a snooze during working
  hours.

Erik, the new chieftain of the Longtail trolls,
is a solid and steady troll fellow.

Morten

• Morten is a modern troll, and keeps in touch with
  whats going on in the world of humans. Once he
  bumped into some golfers and was well and truly
  bitten by the bug. But unfortunately he didnt
  get a proper look at how they placed the ball,
  and lives in the belief that it should be placed
  on his big toe when he tees off which makes him
  a regular visitor to the troll-doctor. Morten is
  also an expert at finding lost objects.

Mamma troll Sonja

• Sonja can make all sorts of things fly through
  the air, which comes in handy with big cleaning
  jobs. Her little one Louise, has the same
  ability, but not exactly the same amount of
  control! Cups and crockery go whizzing through
  the air and pity the hapless troll that
  accidentally gets in the way.

Mamma troll Sonja is goodness itself. All small
trolls with scraped knees run to her for a good
old troll-hug and a little of her very special
raspberry jam.

Snorre

• Hes really sporty and his magical ability is of
  course the fact he can run as fast as lightning.
  When Snorre gets going you wont see him for
  dust. Snorre loves playing football and is a
  striker for Trollhufsa soccer team. Hes also got
  a bit of a temper, so unfortunately he ends up
  watching the end of most games from the touchline

Most trolls are a little bit sluggish, but Snorre
is an exception to the rule.
