• When a writers personal opinions come through in
  a story or news report, he or she is revealing a
  bias.
• LOADED WORDS- Revel more than just the facts.
  The reveal the writers personal opinion
• STEREOTYPES- Label an entire group as being a
  certain way without looking at different members
  of that group.

• ONE SIDED ARGUMENTS- Bias is also revealed when
  the author only reveals one side of the argument.

• What is a fact?
• Something that can be seen or proved
• Only facts can be proved.
• Most writing is a combination of the two.

• An opinion reveals what the writer believes or
  thinks about something.
• Certain words can signal that a writer is stating
  an opinion
