CURRENT STATUS OF MIPAA
  • As a DOH-GAAP initiative, MIPAA works very
    closely with GAAP and Provincial
  • The National Task Team has elected a National
    Executive Committee (NEC)
  • The MIPAA NEC has prepared and circulated a Draft
National Constitution to all Provinces and GAAP
    for comments and amendments, etc.

18
  • Provincial MIPAAs have been formed in most
    Provinces
  • In some provinces District MIPAAs have been
    formed
  • South African Men in all 9 Provinces on the
ground are ready to implement and execute the
MIPAAs commitment to Action and Mandate - But,
    lack Financial and Structural Resources.

19
CONSTRAINTS FACING MIPAA
  • As a DOH-GAAP initiative, MIPAA is dependant on
    GAAP in every respect
  • MIPAA cannot execute its Mandate and Commitment
to Action very effectively because of lack of
resources (both financial and infrastructure) and
    lack of capacity
  • Lack of funding GAAP is the only source of
    funding

20
  • MIPAA is totally dependant on GAAP. MIPAA cannot
even hold NEC meetings due to lack of funds, etc.
  • Do not meet regularly but on an Ad-Hoc basis as
and when necessary or desired by GAAP.
  • Very thin line of independence due to MIPAA being
    a DOH-GAAP initiative.
