Smita Patil (17 October 1955– 13 December 1986) was an Indian actress of film, television and theatre. Regarded among the finest stage and film actresses of her times, Patil appeared in over 80 Hindi and Marathi films in a career that spanned just over a decade. During her career, she received two National Film Awards and a Filmfare Award. She was the recipient of the Padma Shri India’s fourth-highest civilian honor in 1985. Apart from acting, Patil was an active feminist (in a distinctly Indian context) and a member of the Women’s Centre in Mumbai. Bhajan Sopori is the renowned Santoor Player who has performed all over the world. Sopori hails from Sopore in Kashmir Valley and traces his lineage to ancient Santoor experts. He belongs to the Sufiana gharana of Indian classical music. His family has played santoor for over six generations. His first public performance was at a conference organized by Prayag Sangeet Samiti & the University of Allahabad when he was 10 years old. To celebrate the existence of 12th Feb as International Day of Journalism a Global Festival of Journalism was designed by the renowned media person Sandeep Marwah and has been celebrating this festival from last four years. The 4th Global Festival of Journalism has been fixed for 12th February 2016 to 14th February preparation for the same has already started. “We are planning in a big way to organize the 4th Global Festival of Journalism. There are many literary festivals in India and abroad but this part of the country –NOIDA does not have one, which has been announced many times as the cultural capital of India. The same group and people of Global Film Festival and Global Festival of Journalism, which are now popular brands of festivals in India, initiate the Global Literary Festival.
