Development of pedagogic research which informs
and directs practice
  • Promote theory based research which provides
empirical evidence for the development of policy
    on student leaning and experience
  • Establish partnership with AERS
  • Facilitate research which investigates and
promotes the development of the student

Curriculum Change strategy moving towards 20
credit blocks
  • creates a framework allowing a more open
    structure promoting choice for students
  • creates opportunities for the adoption of more
    active learning experiences , formative
    assessment and student centered curricula
  • TALQIC should advise those redesigning programs,
identifying and sharing examples of good design
    and practice and promoting evaluation

11
The move
  • The opportunity created by the move to the other
campus. The challenges which the new building
    will impose and
  • examine how others have experienced the impact of
new learning spaces on the student experience
  • Inform the process of creating spaces which
facilitate the learning values we seek to
    promote.
  • re-evaluate
  • learning technologies
  • a wireless building,
  • social learning spaces,
  • distant library,
  • wall-less classrooms,
  • Paper free information dissemination ,
  • The student / academic relationship

12
  • The adoption by the university of a Curriculum
Change strategy moving towards 20 credit blocks.
This change has been adopted to create a
framework which will allow more flexible open
structure promoting choice for students and
movement between departments , Faculties and
Universities. This change creates larger blocks
of learning creating opportunities for the
adoption of more active learning experiences ,
    formative assessment and student centred
    curricula
  • In addressing this area it is likely that we
continue the themes of student centered learning
and sustainable assessment providing advice to
those redesigning their programs identifying and
sharing examples of good design and practice
