Create a Screensaver with PowerPoint

Create a Blank PowerPoint Presentation
  • Start PowerPoint
  • Choose Blank presentation
  • Click OK
  • OR
  • Choose New from the File menu
  • Click Blank Presentation
  • Click OK

Choose an AutoLayout
  • Click the blank slide in the bottom right corner
  • Click OK

Insert WordArt
WordArt
  • Choose Picture then WordArt from the Insert
    menu.
  • Double-click the WordArt form you like.
  • Type Dont leave in the highlighted text box.
    Click OK.
  • Use the corner handles to stretch the text to
    fill the screen.

Insert a New Slide
  • Choose New Slide from the Common Tasks toolbar
    or from the Insert menu.
  • Choose the Blank slide.
  • Add WordArt that reads Ill be right back!

Present the Slide Show
  • Click the up arrow on the right scroll bar to
    view the first slide.
  • Click the Slide Show icon at the bottom of the
    screen, or choose Slide Show from the View
    menu.
  • Click the mouse or press the right arrow key or
    the space bar to advance the slide show.

Setting the Time Transitions
  • Click the Slide Show menu and choose Slide
    Transition.
  • Check the box next to Automatically after.
  • Type 1 in the box.
  • Click Apply to All.

Make the Show Self-Running
  • Choose Set Up Show from the Slide Show menu.
  • Check Loop continuously until Esc.
  • Click OK.

Present the Slide Show
  • Go up to the first slide.
  • Click the Slide Show icon.
  • Press the Esc key to end the slide show.

Change the WordArt Colors
  • Click the WordArt on the first slide to select
    it.
  • Click the Format menu and choose WordArt.
  • Choose a new Fill color.
  • Choose a new Line color.
  • Click OK.

Adding Preset Animations
  • Click the WordArt on the second slide to select
    it.
  • Choose Preset Animation from the Slide Show
    Menu.
  • Choose an animation.
  • Run the slide show to test the effect.

Save the Presentation
  • Click the Save icon or choose Save from the
    File menu.
  • Give the presentation a name that describes the
    show.
  • Save it on your floppy disk.

Insert a Text Box
  • Create a new presentation and choose the Blank
    slide layout.
  • Click the Text Box icon or choose Text Box
    from the Insert menu.
  • Move the cursor near the top left part of the
    slide. Hold the mouse button down and drag to
    draw a text box across the slide.
  • Choose 96 from the Font Size triangle.
  • Type Get ready for your test.
  • Click the Center Alignment button.

Change the Text Color
  • Click and drag to select the text.
  • Click the triangle next to the Font Color
    button.
  • Click More Font Colors Choose a color you like.

Insert a New Slide
  • Insert a new blank slide.
  • Insert a text box across the slide.
  • Change the font size to 96.
  • Type Ill be right back.
  • Click the Center Alignment button.
  • Change the text color.
  • Present the slide show.

Make the Show Self-Running
  • Click the Slide Show menu and choose Slide
    Transition to make the show run automatically.
  • Choose Set Up Show from the Slide Show menu
    and choose Loop Continuously
  • Click OK.

Add Clip Art
  • Go to the first slide.
  • Click the Insert Clip Art icon or choose
    Picture and then Clip Art from the Insert
    menu.
  • Find a picture you want to use.
  • Press Enter twice to insert it into the slide.
  • Drag to move the picture or use handles to change
    the size.
  • Present the slide show.
  • Save the presentation on your disk.
