IMplementing Innovation Strategies (IMIS)

IMIS Objective

• To support the RIS-NAC regions in developing,
  designing and implementing specific innovation
  policy measures resulting from their regional
  innovation Action Plans
• This happens through the implementation of
  counselling schemes i.e. the provision of a
  specific number of expert days to the regional
  authorities and or key regional organizations of
  the region

IMIS Objective

• Identify the local contact points for the
  implementation of the regional innovation
  measures
• Identify the maturity level of the measures and
  expertise needed in order to propose the relevant
  expert work
• Map the regional needs according to the proposed
  actions, maturity level political involvement and
  commitment, in collaboration with those people
  developed the RIS-NACs Action Plans.
• Elaborate and create a continuously updated
  database of experts that could promote
  appropriate counseling schemes that helping
  towards the implementation of the actions.

IMIS Objective

• Cover significant expert areas that show
  increased density of counseling needs.
• Support the counseling services with enriched
  activities, outside the core thematic expertise.
  Such activities are awareness raising, visiting
  schemes organization, project planning and
  organization (GOPP).
• Create a continuous momentum of information
  exchange and experts support and availability
  through online web support.
• Continuously evaluate and rate the expert work
  and the functionality and use of the counseling
  services through discussions with the regional
  contacts responsible.

Results achieved so far

• All contacts with key political actors and
  regional representatives have been established.
• All partners have provided internally regional
  analyses of the regions and participated in
  contact visits with all IMIS RIS-NAC regions
• All reports for the mapping of the regional
  excellence have been prepared and uploaded in the
  projects website.
• The experts database is available.
• 9 Memorandum Of Understanding have been signed
  already with the RIS NAC
• 7 counselling schemes have been completed
  (December 2005 May 2006). Four of them were
  implemented at the region of Silesia two at Opole
  and one in the region of West Romania .
• 14 counselling schemes have been agreed and are
  either under implementation either to be
  implemented.
• 4 Counselling schemes are under finalization
  with the regions of Nitra and Central Hungary
