- A quick guide to searching the database.

2To Browse
Use the links provided in the Browse section to
view reviews by Topic, A-Z listing or Review
Group.
3Select a review from the list and click on the
link
4From this section choose the review you wish to
view
All reviews have a key to quickly identify their
status, full review, protocol, new updated or
withdrawn
5The review will then be displayed. You can
follow the links on the left of the page to go to
a particular section of the review, or print the
document in PDF Format
6To Search
- There a number of different ways to search,
choose the one most suitable from the following
options. - Quick Search
- Advanced Search
- Mesh Search
7Quick search To perform a quick search enter your
term in the search box and press go.
8- Your search results will be displayed.
- You can select from the list by clicking in the
check boxes of the ones you wish to view. - Each citation displays author title and year
- You can see what type of publication it is, for
example a review - Click on the record link to view the document
9Advanced Search
Enter your search term in the box and use the
drop down menus at the side to refine your search
to abstracts, keyword, publication types or
author.
10- From the select by product list. choose one or
more titles by ticking the check box.
- You can limit your search by selecting the
databases you would like to search.
- You can also select the type of record you would
like to search, the default option is all records.
11Mesh Search
Type in the term you are looking for and the
thesaurus will help you select an appropriate
Mesh heading
Allows you to view the tree structure of Mesh
terms relevant to your specific term
Provides a clear definition of the Mesh term
12- From the displayed list select the appropriate
term
- The mesh term will then be displayed (in red)
along with other more general or specific terms.
- To select the term and all others included in the
tree click on the explode button
- To select a term from the tree structure click in
the box
- To view results click on the search history box
13- To view your search results, click on the search
name.
- Your results are listed. The total result is
displayed plus a breakdown of the types of
records found.
14You may wish to combine your search results with
another term, to do this click on the search
history box and perform a second search
Your searches are numbered 1 and 2, to combine
them enter the symbol before the numbers in the
search for box and click on the go button
The results of the search combination can be
viewed by clicking on the combined result
