ACTION 3 in SLOVAKIA
2
When Are We?
  • After completion of the Action 1 (creating
    development partnerships designing strategy and
    establishing transnational cooperation) and
    Action 2 (activities implementing), the
development partnerships enter the Action 3,
which is focused on dissemination and
    mainstreaming (sharing experience, consulting
with the experts and encouraging both
practitioners and policy makers to get involved
and implement lessons learned from EQUAL).
  • In June 2006, the first Mainstreaming Meeting in
Slovakia took place, which aims to establish 5
National Thematic Networks and formulate their
    future agenda.

3
  • The documents discussed in the meetings of MC CI
EQUAL included the Statutes, and the Rules of
Procedure. At the same time the working document
of the National Mainstreaming Strategy CI EQUAL
    in Slovakia put forward covering
  • Definition of good practice and the concept of
innovation (innovative elements as determined by
CI EQUAL that are the subject of mainstreaming)
  • Identification of the target group for
    mainstreaming
  • Definition of relevant activities and tools for
    good practice dissemination
  • Timetable
  • Individual Project assignment to particular
    thematic groups

4
The key elements of the National mainstreaming
strategy
  • Following the call for projects under CI EQUAL in
Slovakia the Selection Committees recommended 101
projects within 6 themes which were approved  by
the Managing Authority (MA) for CI EQUAL. Project
    applicants are currently entering the
implementation phase which will culminate in the
    good practice-sharing phase. Coordination and
execution of the national mainstreaming strategy
will take place at a number of mutually
    interlinking levels, namely
  • The Monitoring Committee for Community Initiative
    EQUAL (MC CI EQUAL).
  • The Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and
Family, Department of the MA for CI EQUAL.
  • The Social Development Fund, a National Support
Structure for CI EQUAL (NSS for CI EQUAL).
  • National thematic groups

National mainstreaming activities
  • Generalising the outcomes and impacting regional
    and national policies
  • MA for CI EQUAL in cooperation with the
selection committees allowed a broad range of
organisations to be involved in the
implementation phase. It is fully aware of this
responsibility and is willing through NTNs to
form a network of successful project applicants
and enable links to the platforms of these NTNs
with representatives and actors of regional
    /territorial units. In nominating particular
members of NTNs the MA jointly with NSS will
strive to achieve the broadest possible
    representation of different sectors, political
representatives and social partners. The outputs
from particular NTNs will be directed at these
representatives in order for them and the public
at large to familiarise with the principles of CI
    EQUAL.
