2Almost all Americans 18 years of age and older
have the right to vote.
3Ballots are used by voters to cast their vote for
candidates and laws.
4Caucus is a meeting of political party members
to conduct party business.
5Democrats believe that taxes should be cut, they
support a woman's right to make their own choices
and they advocate a balanced budget.
6Endorsements are common campaign tools used by
candidates to gain more votes.
7Faction is a small group with- in a political
party that have differing views from the majority
of the party members.
8General elections are where voters cast their
ballots for candidates for various national,
state or local offices.
9Hung jury is a group of people that cannot agree
on an issue.
10Initiative is a method by which citizens propose
laws or state constitutional amendments.
11Judicial is having the power to decide how laws
should be applied in individual cases.
12Keen candidates understand how to make America a
strong nation.
13Literacy-tests were given to prove that the voter
could read, write and understand public issues.
14Majority of the votes received determines which
candidate wins the election, except in a
presidential election.

congressional elections to run for public office
is done in one of two ways in a caucus or in a

the voters about each candidates beliefs.

candidates normally do not make good leaders.
27Zounds are heard from both parties when the
results of the voting has been announced.
