Title: REVISED TRAFFIC PATTERN
1REVISED TRAFFIC PATTERN Effective 23 April 07
SUBJECT "A" Avenue and Sisisky Blvd Intersection
OPENING "A" Avenue will open 23 April. The
Traffic Signal at Intersection of "A" Avenue and
Sisisky will be flashing "YELLOW" and traffic
control barriers will remain in place on Sisisky
Blvd. Motorists should abide by posted speed
limit signs along Shop and A Avenue. There will
only be THRU TRAFFIC at this intersection (No
turning left or right on Sisisky Blvd since
construction crews will continue to work on
Sisisky Blvd. and the reduced speed limits on
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th C Avenue will remain in
effect.) The opening of "A" Avenue will provide
better access for patrons entering the Lee Ave.
Gate traveling to the Post Exchange, Commissary,
and the Service Station as well as Shop Road Gate
motorists/POVs traveling to facilities on west
side of the installation. It allows for better
traffic flow across Sisisky Blvd. plus it reduces
traffic flow on "C" Avenue. NOTE "A" Avenue
Intersection has been closed since 2 October 06
to facilitate the Roadway Improvements project on
Sisisky Blvd. Per contract, the remainder of
Sisisky Blvd. is expected to be closed until 30
Sept 07, but sections may be opened before then
depending upon work completion. Once Sisisky
Blvd is entirely OPEN to TRAFFIC, you will notice
widened lanes with raised medians, new traffic
signals, curb and gutter, new pavement, new
street lights, new sidewalks, pedestrian
pushbutton signals and new pavement markings
(crosswalks, centerlines, arrows, stop bars,
etc).
