Description
  • This session will begin with a review of the
    results of a survey on administrative hiring
    practices and then proceed to a consideration of
    the challenges colleges are facing due to the
    many interim and new administrators on our
    campuses. Do you and should you have a role in
    the selection of "interims"? Upon hiring a new
    administrator, what steps should you take to
    ensure that he or she works well with your
    senate? Come join a lively discussion of how to
    handle these varied challenges.

    discussion about first responses received.
  • What is the current unmet demand future trend
    for CC administrators?
  • What factors are contributing to the apparent
    shortage in the applicant pool?
  • What are the effects of this shortage on
    institutions?
  • What are the effects (positive negative) of
    interim appointments?
  • How do interim search processes differ from
    permanent?
  • How are hiring processes changing?
  • Responses also came from recruitment firm.

  • All recently elected and appointed trustees
    should attend the Trusteeship Workshop.
    Continuing trustees, student trustees, and CEOs
    are also very welcome, and will gain much from
    the workshop.

  • New CEOs (even those who have been a president at
    another college) have many new things to learn
    when they take a new position. The League has
    identified common questions in the areas listed
    below and offered some answers. If you have more
    questions, send an email. It will be forwarded to
    chief executives with expertise related to your
    question.

  • .. a statewide activity whose purpose is to
    provide a personal and professional development
    experience for selected individuals who have
    demonstrated a potential for expanded leadership
    roles in their current, or future,

    College system. Participants develop competencies
    through participation in ACCCA Mentee leadership
    events held during the one-year program.
