menu of state-funded course offerings. - Greatly expands advancement offerings
- Some of the MSAC offerings have not previously
been available to students in summer - Some provide additional sections of courses the
district has previously offered
14Summer Course Lists are Considered Projections at
this Time
- Classes go if required number of students
register and a teacher is hired. Class is
cancelled if minimum registration is not met or
teacher not found. - Due to MSAC program, 29 additional courses are
offered. - Unable to quantify number of additional classes
that will be taught until completion of
registration and hiring process. - Restructured registration hiring processes will
facilitate hiring and enrolling sufficient
students
153rd Outcome Desired New District Registration
Process Helps Students Access Needed Courses
- In previous summers, registration has differed
at each site. No defined district process existed
to help families find a needed course or opening. - Planning Group is designing a district process to
provide more information and assistance to
families. Completion scheduled for April 7th. - Process will be publicized on district website
and in student packets distributed at all middle
and high schools
16Planned Features of District Summer School
Registration Process
- Provide information to students and parents on
options available at all high schools - Facilitate enrollment at other district high
school if class needed is not available at home
site - Establish clear priorities for registration
- Provide early notification to family concerning
the students class registration - Eliminate confusion by all schools following same
procedure.
174th Outcome Desired New Summer School Hiring
Process Fills All Teaching Positions
- District and MSAC developed complementary hiring
practices to fill openings early in summer
planning cycle. - Application forms instructions went to teachers
March 16. Deadline is March 29. - District MSAC process will facilitate filling
openings at all district sites
18In Summary
- Completed

additional means to expand opportunities for
students in future summer schools.
