The Fake folklore of Daniel Boone

• Daniel Boone and a friend went fire hunting. Fire
  hunting consists the shinning of light from a
  fire pan (which is a pan of blazing pine) from
  the woods. The light would reflect in a deers
  eyes and then it would run so that Daniel Boone
  could shoot it.

• He went to shoot the deer but couldnt
  because he had never seen a blue eyed deer.
  Daniels friend said that the deer jumped over
  the fence and ran off into the meadow. The
  moonlight had told Daniel that the deer was a
  young women. He followed her to her house where
  he met her father, a close neighbor. Thats where
  he met his future wife Rebecca.

True things about Daniel Boone

• Daniel Boone was a pioneer and folk hero in North
  Carolina. There is a town named for Daniel
  Boone and some of the trails are part of roads we
  use today. Some of his descendants still live in
  our area. He was a writer and a a pioneer who
  wrote about how hard his life was in pioneer time
  and about traveling through the Cumberland Gap.

  looking for something else but you need to have
  your eyes open for the opportunity.
• Many folk heroes are greatly exaggerated stories
  of real American people, Daniel Boone is one.
