Whats New in ISTEP World
  • Online results can be accessed with a login and
    password-logins can be made for teachers
  • Less paper reports with more online results being
    made available
  • Availability of clicking on a reported item and
    having the item pop up in a PDF form so teachers
    can have quick access to the tested item
  • New assessment plan from the State will provide
    formative assessments in grades K-2
    (mCLASSReading 3D and mCLASSMath)
  • New assessment plan from the State to provide
    formative, diagnostic, predictive program with
    Acuity formative assessments for grades 3-8
  • End of Course Assessments in English 10, Algebra
    1 replace the GQE

Where to go from here
  • Writing Prompts grades k-8 this year
  • Using Writing the Simple 6 rubric for assessing
    student writing
  • Have to provide more opportunities for kids to
    read and write for authentic purposes
  • Have to get boys actively involved in math and
    reading
  • Keep working on getting kids to read on grade
    level at minimum
