    Being able to tell a story with a beginning,

    suspense, dev. of event(s), description, etc.)
  • Use Narrative Writing Diamond as a framework
  • Last few months of the year will focus on
    Expository Writing (writing to inform, go through
    the components of intro./concl., main ideas,
    details, writing structure - expository pillar,
    and revising/editing)

    through writing, also written responses in other
    subject areas (SLAMS)
  • Process Writing - Brainstorming/Outline, Rough
    Draft, Revising/Editing, Final Copy

  • Writing progress is evaluated throughout the year
    and kept in writing portfolios
