• Most of year focuses on Narrative Writing.
  Being able to tell a story with a beginning,
  middle, and end with story elements (setting,
  theme, plot/problem, solution, characterization,
  suspense, dev. of event(s), description, etc.)
• Use Narrative Writing Diamond as a framework
• Last few months of the year will focus on
  Expository Writing (writing to inform, go through
  the components of intro./concl., main ideas,
  details, writing structure - expository pillar,
  and revising/editing)

  through writing, also written responses in other
  subject areas (SLAMS)
• Process Writing - Brainstorming/Outline, Rough

  and kept in writing portfolios
