YA National Objectives

• For all young people who participate to
• Pursue approved vocational qualifications at
  level 2(on average 2 days a week in a variety of
  learning settings)
• Have an appropriate and extended experience of
  work with an employer (50 days)
• Have the extended experience of work contribute
  directly to the coursework of the qualification
• Prepare for and be offered clear progression
  routes

Distinctive Features of the YA Programme

• An average of 2 days per week spent in a
  variety of learning settings of which includes
• Studying for a level 2 outcome
• 50 days work experience over 2 years
• Collaborative delivery through Partnership
  arrangement
• Parental / guardian support for participation
• Robust eligibility and selection
• Incorporating enterprise and enrichment
  opportunities
• Resulting in a YA Completion Certificate
• Meets the statutory curriculum is delivered as
  far as possible within the school timetable
