5
What is evangelism?
6
evangelism is that dimension and activity of
the churchs mission which seeks to offer every
person, everywhere, a valid opportunity to be
directly challenged by the gospel of explicit
faith in Jesus Christ, with a view to embracing
him as Saviour, becoming a loving member of his
community and being enlisted in his service
of reconciliation, peace and justice on
earth. David Bosch

near. Repent and believe the good news.

Jesus centred evangelism
12
the mission of the Christian church is defined
by the entire event of the life,
teaching, proclamation and passion of Jesus.
13
Centred on his identity and vocation
the church does not simply belong to Christ but
is shaped by the dynamics of his identity and
ministry reproducing its patterns in us.

Chris Wright. The Mission of God
21
By Gods incredible grace we have a gospel big
enough to redeem all that sin and evil has
touched. And every dimension of that good news is
good news utterly and only because of the blood
of Christ on the cross.

Dying to live
I tell you the truth, unless a grain of
wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains
only a single seed. But if it dies, it
produces many seeds. John 12 23-6
23
church planting is a process by which a seed of
the life and message of Jesus, embodied by a
community of Christians is immersed for mission
reasons in a particular cultural or geographic
context. The intended consequence is that it
roots there, coming to life as a new
indigenous body of Christian disciples well
suited to continue in mission. MSC report
