Introduction
Following are the basic safety principles upon
which a Safety Program must be founded
  • Safety is a management responsibility.
  • Managers / supervisors must be held accountable
    for their groups performance.
  • Safety performance must be accurately measured.
Furthermore, this measurement must be proactive.
  • The highest level of performance a supervisor can
expect from the people he/she supervises is
determined largely by his/her minimum acceptable
    standards.
  • The organization must do whatever is necessary to
ensure the safety and well being of its
    employees.
  • Safety is a requirement, not an option.
