Hear, O Israel The Lord our God, the Lord is
One. Love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul and with all your
strength. (Deut 64-9)

These commands I give you today are to be on
your hearts. Impress them upon your children.
Talk about them when you sit at home and when you
walk along the road, when you lie down and when
you get up. (Deut 64-9)

Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them
on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes
of your houses and on your gates. (Deut 64-9)

- You shall not make for yourself an idol.
- You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your
God. - Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.

NOTICE that the first four commands orient us
properly towards God and the remaining commands
orient us properly towards others.

Of the remaining SIX commands. The first three
deal primarily with close and/or family
relationship. The last three deal with others.

is doing something right!

- God created the relationship of man with woman
to reveal His love for us. - God places tremendous value upon the foundation
of marriage. - Gods nature as one who is love is offended
by adultery.

- We are intended to have ONE deep and trusting
relationship. - Our destiny is to reflect the pattern of Gods
love. - We tend to allow self-love to eclipse agape
love.

- Our world is suffering under a plague of
divorce/living together. - Our world tends to divorce for convenience or
financial reasons. - Our world has lost its grip on Gods destiny.

Why does God hate adultery?

Because
He knows the value of people and what the spirit
of adultery does to destroy and devalue them.
