13Add a Clip Art Image
- When you select a layout with a picture, you can

14Add an Image from a File Directory
- InsertPictureFrom File
- Select the directory (folder, floppy disk) that
stores the image file. Double-click the file.

- Click the heading text box, type the new heading.
- Click the message text box, type the new message.

- You can modify the text for different font,
color, or size by selecting the text and using
the formatting tools.

- Click WordArt Frame Tool icon on the object
tool bar. - Select a word art, click OK.
- Type text and click ok.

- Explore tools on the WordArt tool bar.

21Personal Information
- When you first use the Publisher to design a card
with wizard, you may need to update your personal
information. - Go to Edit menu and select Personal Information.
- Fill in the contact information in Personal
Information window. - Click OK.

- This is a four-face card. Click on a face number
at the bottom left of the window, you can then

- New-File
- Click Publications for Print
- Select Flyers, select announcement-Party
Announcement Flyer. - This is a two-face flyer. You may change the
following features of a face. - Flyer Options
- Color Schemes
- Font Schemes
- Add an image file from computer (house photo).
- Add a clip art.
- Add text
- Delete extra text or image
24Add a Design Gallery Object
- You may add some images, text box, or other
object to your flyer. - Insert-Design Gallery Object
- Select Picture Captions, select a picture.
- Click Insert Object
- Move the object to the appropriate place on the
flyer.
25Create a Calendar with the Wizard
- File-New, click Publications for Print.
- Select calendars, select Full Page, select a
style (Art right calendar). - You may change the following features
- Calendar Options
- Yearly
- Color Scheme
- Font Scheme
- Publication Options (layout)
- Change image
- Add new image
- Add text
- Delete extra text or image
- Change Date
- Click Change Date button, select a year. Click
OK.
26Create a Banner with the Wizard
- NewFile
- Click Publications for Print
- Select Banners.
- Select a Banner such as Information Banner.
- You may change the following features.
- Width, height, graphic location, border.
- Color Schemes
- Font Schemes
- Type text
- Delete extra text or image
- Add an image file from your computer (house
photo). - Add a clip art.
- Publication Designs change a banner design.
27Print a Banner
- Go to File and Select Print Preview.
- Go to File and select Print
- You may change the overlap width between papers
by clicking the Change Overlap button. - Change the overlay width.
- Select Print Entire Page or Print One Sheet.
- Click OK to close the printer option window.
- Click OK for printing.
28Create a Newsletter
- Go to File, select New
- Click Publications for Print
- Select Newsletters category
- Select a newsletter layout, Accessory Bar
Newsletter. - This is a four-face newsletter. For a face, you

- Change single or double-sided printing
- Page Content
- Text layout
- Type text.
- Copy text from MS Word and past text in text
boxes. - Select text, hit Delete key to delete the default
text. - Change images
- Delete unwanted text or image boxes.
- Change Color Scheme

29Text Flow
- When you paste text from MS Word and the text
exceed the text box, you will be prompted whether
you need to connect the current box to the next
available text box. - Click Yes to continue the extra text to the next
available text box. - Click No to discontinue the text.

- Go to File, select New.
- Select Brochures.
- Select Informational.
- Select a brochure Accent Box Informational
Brochure. - The default is a 3-panel brochure.

31Mail Merge in Publisher
- You may use the mail merge feature to mail a
publisher document to a group of people. - Create an address list with MS Excel or MS
Access. - Connect the Publisher document to the address
list. - Merge the address list to the Publisher document.

- Use MS Excel or MS Access to create an address
file with names and addresses of the following
fields. - Title, First Name, Last Name, Street Address,
City, State, Zip - Go to Tools, select Mail and Catalog Merge,
select Mail and Catalog Merge Wizard. - Run the wizard.

- In Step 1, click Next Select Data Source.
- In Step 2, click Browse, select the address
file. - A list of people displays. Click OK to close the
window. - Click Next Create Your Publication.
34Insert Merged Fields in the Text Box
- Step 3, click the text box icon and draw a text
box on which you will put the names and
addresses. - Click Title, hit space bar.
- Click First Name, hit space bar.
- Click Last Name, hit enter.
- Click Address Line 1, hit enter
- Click City, type ,, hit space bar.
- Click State, hit space bar.
- Click Zip Codes.
- You may highlight the merged fields in the
address box, change the text color, font, or
size. - Click Next Preview Your Publication.
35Preview and Mail Merge
- Step 4
- Use or all people.
- Click Next Complete the merge.
- Step 5
- Click Print
- You may select Test button to print only one
flyer. - Select All Entries or Entries from with starting
and ending number. - Click OK.

- File-New. Click Publications for Print.
- Select labels, mailing address
- Select Avery 5162.

- Go to Tools, select Mail and Catalog Merge,
select Mail and Catalog Merge Wizard. - Run the wizard the same way as with the mail
merge a flyer. - Step 1
- Click Next Select Data Source
- Step 2
- Click Browse, select the address file.
- Click Next Create your publication.
38Insert Mail Merge Fields
- Step 3
- Click the label text box. Select Title, hit
space bar. - Select First Name, hit space bar Select Last
Name, hit Enter. - Select Address Line 1, hit Enter.
- Select City, type ,. Select State, hit enter.
Select Zip Code. - Click Next Preview your Publication.
39Preview the Publication and Complete
- Step 4
- Use or names.
- Click Next Complete the Merge.
- Step 5
- Click Print. Click Test button to print two rows
as a test. - Select All Entries or Entries and starting and
ending number. - Click OK to print.
