Rains have failed across East Africa, food prices
are rising and more than 15 million people need
emergency aid, and your prayers.

Difficult to imagine
For parents to be unable to feed their
children is a torture difficult to imagine,
but there are thousands now in this situation

Responding to need
Rains have failed twice in a row, leaving
millions in need of aid in a region still
recovering from previous droughts. Tearfund
church partners are distributing food and have
ongoing projects helping communities to be more
resilient to drought. We have launched an
appeal to allow our partners to scale up their
response to this crisis.

• RAIN the right amount of rain needs to fall at
  the right time to secure a harvest.
• WISDOM we need wisdom to ensure our response
  effectively benefits as many people as possible.
• SECURITY fighting in Somalia is contributing to
  the crisis and severely hindering the safe
  delivery of aid.
• THE FUTURE we have long-term projects in East
  Africa helping communities to be more resilient
  to drought.
