2Purpose of the PT3 Program
- Developing future teachers who know how to use
modern learning technologies to improve student
learning is a major challenge facing our nation's
teacher preparation system. PT3 grants - support innovative program improvements to
prepare technology-proficient educators for 21st
century schools.
3UNT PT3Capacity Building Initiatives
- Provide resources, support and equipment for
teacher educators in the COE - Technology Guides/Team Teachers
- Laptop computers/Projection systems
- Knowledge and support to find resources to
support courses - Partnering with school districts and educational
entities to provide authentic experiences for
preservice students

- Educate and encourage non-credentialed
para-professionals to become certified to teach - Upgrade teacher education courses to provide
modeling in the use of technology - Provide two-way mentoring from preservice
technology experts to veteran classsroom teachers
