The Survey

• We did a survey on whether people think video
  games are an influence on violence and crime or
  not. The survey was done on a year 7 class with
  18 pupils. 15 people in the class said it wasnt
  an influence. However the 3 people who said it
  was an influence were girls.

The Argument

• Ever since their conception, video games have
  contained violence, violence being to cause pain
  or death onto other human beings from the
  earliest games to the most advanced modern 1st
  person shooter. Games dont have an intention to
  bring thoughts of crime to mind . Violence is
  usually a last resort for getting revenge.

Yes, it is an influence
Violent video games have been linked to violent
crimes. Devin Moore had been playing a violent
game, which was taken to the extreme, called GTA
SanAndreas. This is only one game in a list of
series of games. There are another six games that
are in this series.

People who have repeated exposure to violent
video games cause a big effect on the prefrontal
cortex. Playing brutal video games have been
linked to violent or aggressive behaviour. There
have been many crimes that were associated with
video games. In fact, the government of Greece
had banned all computer games, including console,
handheld, and cell phone games. They banned these
games because they dont want their kids to
become influenced by video games.
The violence in video games has been a problem
that affects the kids that play them over the
last ten years. You can restart a video game you
cant restart something that happened in
real-life. Parents should be more involved in
what their kids play. If they control what kids
play, then they can help protect their kids from
taking videos game too serious.
