• K-12 Writing and Math

Articulation

• To consistently and systematically examine
  curriculum for gaps and redundancies (knowledge
  skills) in order to ensure for our students
  guaranteed, relevant and viable curriculum and
  smooth transitions from first grade through
  graduation.

Long Term Product of K- 12 Articulation

• The main long term products of our efforts will
  be math and writing curriculum master maps.
• We will manage our curriculum using the
  Curriculum Mapper website.
• The content, skills, and benchmarks at each grade
  level, will be represented in these maps.

LOGISTICS

• Teachers at your site will create a curriculum
  map for math writing.
• OR
• Teams of grade level math/writing teachers will
  create and approve a master map (horizontal
  articulation).

End Result Example

• A 1st grade math curriculum map that all 1st
  grade math teachers at your site use for
  instructional planning.

LOGISTICS

• 2. Then teams of grade level math/writing
  teachers from all schools will meet in order to
  create and approve feeder school master maps for
  each level (still horizontal articulation, but
  across all feeder schools).

End Result Example

• A 1st grade math curriculum map that all first
  grade math teachers across our schools use for
  instructional planning.

LOGISTICS

• Finally, our K-12 team will gather together to
  examine our K-12 master maps for gaps and
  redundancies. These teams will report back the
  findings to their sites and ask their teachers
  for suggestions.

Continuation

• Hang on to the results from your teacher
  suggestions until our next K-12 Articulation
  meeting. At that point, you will make the
  necessary adjustments to the master maps.

End Result Example

• No gaps/redundancies in 1st grade math curriculum
  master map through 12th grade math curriculum
  master map.
