I have taught for 9 years and can still remember
how grateful I was that a seasoned teacher took
me under her wing and walked me through my first
few years of teaching. This is a big reason why
I stuck it out and am still teaching today.
Every new teacher should have this support. As
a veteran teacher, I wish I had a mentor when I
began teaching. Over the years, so many things
have changed in our profession and there are so
many challenges that new teachers face.
