  • 8th Grade Volleyball Season!
  • By Katie Glynn

You are always with your volleyball team and
never hang out with me anymore!
What is wrong with you? You have been acting
weird. You okay?
Its not like I can help it. The playoffs are
starting so were always practicing.
Hey!!!
Hi.
Whatever!
3
I just want everyone to leave me alone!!
I know!!! Im trying Jacque, its not like I want
to be doing bad. Just leave me alone
Come on, Katie. That was a perfect set. You got
to get your spikes over the net.
Katie, what is your problem? Why are you yelling
at Jacque. She is just trying to help.
4
We all have bad days. You cant go around yelling
at people because your having a bad day. Tomorrow
is a new day and everything will be fine
Ohhh. Did someone have a bad day Ms. Crabby
Pants.
So how was practice today hunnie, you seemed a
little upset when I picked you up.
It was fine. I dont want to talk about it.
5
You guys, Im really sorry. I should not have
yelled at you, I know you were just trying to
help me out. I had a bad day but thats no excuse
to bring that on other people. Im sorry.
Its okay, next time just tell us whats wrong and
well try and help you.
The championships are coming up you guys, and I
know we can do it!
You guys are the best!
6
Katie, you know you got to jump higher on your
spikes and not hit the ball so hard when youre
serving. You also need to move faster when your
diving for a ball. Dont be so afraid to hurt
yourself
You have all the answers, dont you? You never
want to hear anything to help you. Stop being so
sensitive.
You are such a baby. Go cry about it.
I know what to do ! Its just not that easy to
know what to do and do it. Im working on it, so
stop criticizing me.
I know mom. I always know what to do
7
You are an awesome player, one of the best on the
team. Dont get so discouraged if you have a bad
play or even a bad game. It happens to
everyone. You just need to be the kind of player
that can shake off mistakes and get back out
there and do better the next time. Stop worrying
about everyone else . I know you can do it.
Ive noticed that you seem to be frustrated when
your playing lately. Your not playing like
yourself. Do you want to talk about anything?
No, I just feel a lot of pressure because I feel
like everyone is always criticizing me or telling
me things to do differently, and I just want to
play.
Thanks!
8
It may seem that way but thats just because the
season is almost over so we are really busy. I
have made new friends but your still my best
friend. I think we could all hang out together. I
think you should go over to Kristins house with
me today. Would you want to ?
I want to say that I dont like us fighting and
Im sorry if you feel like I have been ignoring
you or ditching you lately. Just because we are
not on the same team doesnt mean we have to stop
being friends.
I never said that. But youre ALWAYS with THEM
Yea, I guess if I am invited. Okay I will go.
9
Deirdre, you could hang out with us more often!!
Are you going to come watch us play in the
championship??
Yea, definitely. I will be there.
Hey guys, Deirdre came with me today.
10
You girls had a good practice. You girls have had
an amazing season so far. No matter what
happens, I am proud of you and you should all be
proud of yourselves. Does anyone have anything
to say?
I do. I know we have done awesome so far this
season, but we need to finish it. We deserve
this championship and we all need to play like a
team and get it. Everyone get up and lets do our
team cheer one last time before the game.
11
Congratulations on winning, team! Now I want to
give the Most Valuable Player Award out. This
girl has done amazing for our team and she has
been a true leader. She has had her ups and
downs but always kept her determination. Katie,
this is for you.
Mrs. Boyle, you were the best coach Ive ever had
and I want to thank you so much for believing in
me. I also want to say thanks to my mom who
always pushed me to do my best.
