• Keratinocytes-producers of protein-keratin which
  gives skin a waxy protective coat.. Tightly
  connected to each other. Replacement every 35-45
  days-higher in friction areas.Growth controlled
  by epidermis growth factor(EGF).

Melanocytes

• Melanocytes-synthesizers of the pigment melanin
  which is stored in membrane-lined melanosomes.
  Spider-shaped, found in basement layer.Have
  contact with keratinocytes which take up the
  melanin to the aspical side.

• Consists of 5 layers.
• Has stratum lucidum which thin skin does not have.
