Context

• As a EU member, Romania has to measure
  administrative costs and reduce administrative
  burdens which are imposed by the national
  legislation on business and citizens
• Romania has to define a national target for
  reducing administrative burdens until the end of
  2008
• Better regulation initiative in Romania

• Focusing on information requirements, on
  administrative activities and not on the general
  impact of an regulation

Common principles for reducing administrative
burdens

• - reducing the frequency of information
  requirements
• - verifying if there are not overlapping in the
  information requirements and eliminate the
  possible overlapping
• - using internet for collecting information
• - introducing ceilings for information
  requirements
• - introducing risk analysis when limiting the
  information requirements by evaluating the impact
  of a wider limitation
• - analyzing and clarifying those normative acts
  who are interfering with the business activity
