Library
  • Library Day Thursday, 200-230

  • Textbook Condition Report
  • Under Documents on the AA Library page of the
    school website.
  • This is how students and parents will be able to
    note a damaged book if it was that way when they
    received it and how we (AA) can bill them if it
    comes back in really bad shape at the end of the
    year.
  • These forms get returned to Juliann Brant, MLS in
    the Library or give to me, Ill get them to her
    mailbox.

Water bottles EVERY DAY They can stay all week,
return home on Friday for cleaning! Sweater/Sweats
hirt Every Day Colorado weather is anything but
predictable. Lets always be prepared. NAMES on
all personal items. clothing, water bottles,
gloves, etc. Listening skills are imperative for
success.

Friday Folder
  • Yellow Folder- should come home every Friday
  • Completed and graded assignments
  • Important notes from office, teachers, after
    school programs, etc.
  • Please return folder empty on Monday
  • Third Grade News will be posted Friday evening on
    the website http//www.americanacademyk8.org/
  • Check your childs Homeroom Page, and Math
    teacher/Reading teachers page for items specific
    to their homeroom or reading or math class.
  • Use Homework Folder for correspondence as it is
    checked daily

Homework Folder / Planner
  • Planners come home every day (including Friday)
  • Please review the planner and initial each
    evening.
  • Check for behavior notification (colored dot) and
    discuss as appropriate.
  • Math, Writing, Reading, Spelling, Science, or
    History homework, if any, will be noted in
    Planner and the assignment will be in their red
    homework folder.
  • Red Homework Folder will come home only if your
    child has homework.
  • Please review and discuss homework with your
    child, sign or initial, and return to the folder
  • Homework is either designed to support and extend
    classroom learning, or is necessary because a
    student did not complete the assignment in the
    time allotted in class.
  • Please return Planner and Homework Folder daily

  • Summer Birthdays celebrate on half birthdays (ex.
    July 5th celebrates on January 5th)
  • Welcome to send in treats (individual)
  • Treats will be passed out to be enjoyed at lunch
    time
  • (avoid peanuts, peanut oil, melon, broccoli,
    brussel sprouts, cooked spinach and fish
    products)

  • Fact Assessment scores are multiplied at .5 so as
    to have less of a negative impact on overall math
    scoreshowever, students who struggle with fact
    speed will be affected when trying to learn new
    math concepts.

    Portal beginning Monday, October 5.   This
    information is now also on the Homepage and on
    the Parent Portal whenever a parent signs on. 
  • Everyone who requested access to Parent Portal at
    the time of enrollment or registration (this is
    mainly NEW families) will receive their login
    information by October 9.
