Processors

Ports and Cables

• This section is describing the connections on the
  back of the hardware. For example a USB port is
  a port! There are different names, and each port
  will require a different cable, and each will
  have a different job.

Connects a computer to the Local Area Network
(LAN) These connectors are found at the end of
Cat 5 cables.
Cat 5 cable tipped with RJ-45 connectors that fit
into RJ-45 ports.
Connects the modem to an external phone line
USB ports are used for Keyboards and mouse
connections

Ports and Cables

• To connect a monitor it is a VGA connector
• Printer will be on the network and will be
  connected using Cat 5 cables and RJ45s. So all
  computers can print to the same printer (as in
  this room!)
