8Grant Programs
- 1. 2006 Taiwan Studies Faculty Research
Award Program - To encourage distinguished foreign scholars to
conduct research in Taiwan for up to 3 weeks.
This program will provide each scholar with a
economy class round trip air ticket and a daily
living allowance .
9- 2. Taiwan Scholarship Program
- To encourage promising foreign students to pursue
degree studies in Taiwan. This program is jointly
funded by MOE, MOFA, NSC,MOEA beginning in 2004. - For the coming academic year (2006-07), 512 new
and 585 renewed scholarships have been announced
to award to over 86 countries.
10- 3. MOE Mandarin Enrichment Scholarship Program
- To encourage international students to enhance
their Mandarin language skills in Taiwan for up
to 12 months, and to promote educational and
academic exchange. - 270 scholarships have been announced and will be
awarded to 35 countries for 2006.

15- 3. Summer Mandarin Language Institute
- MOE will be glad to hold this program for college
students from foreign countries. We welcome
colleges to organize a group of fifteen youth to
study Mandarin in Taiwan for a period of 6-8
weeks. - The MOE will provide US5,000 to subsidize the
Summer Mandarin Language Institute.

of scholarship recipients. - To further the cooperation, the MOE will be glad
to discuss the number of the recipients for both
the Taiwan Scholarship Program and the MOE
Mandarin Enrichment Scholarship Program upon
request.
