  • Every word in the English language has its own
    function in a sentence.
  • This function is called a part of speech.
  • The parts of speech work together in a sentence
    to create a meaning.
  • Ava likes to study alone in a

Basic POS Adverbs
  • Adverbs are words that describe verbs, adjectives
    and other adverbs.
  • The professor understands what it is like to be a
    student and is very sympathetic to their issues.
  • The Reading Lab will periodically offer reading
    seminars to help students practice their reading
    skills.
  • Reading courses always require reading
    comprehension.

  • Professor Hall is ambidextrous. She writes well
    with both hands.
  • She used to drive a car with stick shift, which
    meant she had to change gears manually.
  • Now, she drives an automatic car.
  • She once had to intervene when two students were
    arguing over a parking spot. She stood between
    the two cars until security arrived.

    He was able to convince the two students to
    calm down and cooperate until the situation was
    resolved.

  • Root
  • Suffix

  • uninhabitable
  • un not (prefix)
  • in in/within (prefix)
  • habit live (root)
  • able state or condition (suffix, adjective)
  • Total meaning not able to live in or within (a
    certain place)

    impacts a words meaning

    in its original form.
