• More sports fans drank alcohol, engaged in
  binge drinking, had a heavy drinking style and
  reported alcohol-related problems than non-fans.

Alcohol Not Very Helpful

• In previous years, alcohol used to be look at as
  helpful in performance
• Alcohol's adverse effects linger long after its
  blood concentration has fallen to zero.
• Reaction time, balance, coordination, strength,
  power and speed are a few of the physical
  capacities that remain compromised the morning
  after a night of drinking, even when the drinking
  is moderate.
• The researchers concluded that alcohol was toxic
  to the heart, even in young, healthy adults.

Much

• 1 in 13 American adults abuse alcohol which later
  causes dependence (alcoholism) and substantial
  harm to their health and disruption in their
  lives.

• Teachers/mentors are now realizing that it is
  their responsibility to inform students and
  athletes about drinking and its effects

• Possibility of reaching your maximum potential
• No legal issues to deal with
