CARRIERS COMBINED PACKAGECOMMON TERMS
  • You means the carrier named in the schedule
    including subcontractors.
  • Subcontractors means any person or company to
    whom you have given the goods and/or merchandise
    for carriage. Where you are acting as a
    subcontractor to a principal carrier, this means
    you are carrying goods and/or merchandise on
    behalf of the principal carrier.

  • Cartage conditions - the terms and conditions
    contained in your consignment note and your
    cartage contract agreements with your clients, if
    approved by us, prior to risk attaching.
  • Goods /or Merchandise - as detailed in the
    schedule, including all retail sales packaging
    shipping containers carried by you your
    subcontractors

CARRIERS COMBINED PACKAGE
  • If cover is required for livestock, household
    goods, personal effects, and other specified
    items (eg jewellery, money), these must be
    specifically included in the policy schedule.

GENERAL CONDITIONS THE INSURED TRANSITS GENERAL
FREIGHT
  • Commences when each item is first moved for the
    specific purpose of loading on to the conveying
    vehicle, terminates when delivered to the
    intended destination
  • Includes any period where the goods are shut
    out from the conveyance or intended destination
    (maximum 21 days)
  • Excludes any period of dismantling, erection,
    commissioning, testing, or storage other than as
    required for transhipment or on - carriage.

GENERAL CONDITIONS THE INSURED TRANSITS
LIVESTOCK
  • Commences when each animal enters the conveyance
    or its loading ramp
  • Terminates when each animal is discharged from
    the conveyance or its loading ramp at the
    destination
  • Includes whilst the Livestock are transhipped or
    are being rested for up to seven days during the
    ordinary course of transit.

GENERAL CONDITIONS EXCLUSIONS
  • This insurance does not cover loss or damage
    resulting from
  • Terrorism (unless in the ordinary course of
    transit)
  • Nuclear/radioactive contamination
  • War (unless the goods are on board a ship,vessel
    or aircraft)
  • Goods owned or leased by the Insured or their
    employees
  • Any illegal activity
  • Inherent vice
  • Delay

GENERAL CONDITIONS EXCLUSIONS
  • This insurance does not cover loss or damage
    resulting from
  • Loss of market, loss of profit, consequential
    loss of any description.
  • Mechanical, electrical or electronic breakdown,
    derangement or malfunction of the insured goods.
  • If the insured goods are livestock, this
    insurance also does not cover
  • Failure to pass tests or examinations, or
    inoculation and its after effects
  • Slaughter or confiscation on account of
    infectious diseases.

CARRIERS GOODWILL THE INSURED EVENTS
  • Physical loss of or damage to the goods
    (death, physical injury or slaughter for humane
    reasons in the case of livestock) directly caused
    by
  • Fire, explosion, lightning or flood
  • Collision of the conveying vehicle
  • Overturning, jackknifing or derailment
  • Collision, crashing or forced landing of
    aircraft
  • Impact of the goods
  • High-jacking or armed hold-up.

CARRIERS GOODWILL THE INSURED EVENTS
  • For transits by sea - the policy further
    covers physical loss of or damage to the goods,
    directly caused by
  • Jettison, washing overboard or General Average
    Sacrifice.
  • War whilst the insured goods are on board the
    carrying vessel or aircraft.
  • Also, General Average and Salvage contributions
    are payable when required under any Bill of
    Lading.

Carriers GoodwillThe Insured Events
  • You can request the following extensions
  • accidental physical loss or damage during loading
    and unloading (not available for livestock)
  • theft, pilferage or non-delivery
  • breakdown or malfunction of refrigerating
    machinery
  • (4 hour time excess applies).

CARRIERS GOODWILL HOW MUCH WE WILL PAY
  • We will pay the claimant, or other parties
    agreed with
  • the claimant, the lesser of
  • what it costs to repair or reinstate the goods
    to a condition similar to that prior to the loss,
    or
  • the invoice value, or
  • if there is no invoice value, the cost of
    replacing the goods with similar goods of the
    same age and condition or as near as possible
    thereto.

  • If livestock,we will pay the claimant, or
    other parties agreed with the claimant
  • the net invoice i.e less stock agents commission
    if applicable, or
  • if no invoice, the cost of replacing the
    livestock with similar livestock of the same age
    and condition or as near as possible to that age
    condition.

  • Additional benefits (if required to pay )
  • Cleaning up or decontaminating your premises
    following the return of salvaged goods, including
    disposal costs - up to 25,000
  • Clean up and disposal costs at accident site - up
    to 25,000
  • Reasonable costs to avoid or minimise loss or
    damage.

CARRIERS GOODWILL HOW MUCH WE WILL PAY
  • Additional benefits in the case of Livestock
  • In the case of injury to livestock we will pay
    (at our option) the cost of agisting the
    livestock to bring them back to their condition
    prior to the loss, or the agreed depreciation in
    value if they are sold as injured livestock
  • The cost of mustering animals following an
    incident up to a limit of 25 of the value of the
    livestock.

NOMINATED CLIENTS THE INSURED EVENTS
  • THIS OPTION NOT AVAILABLE FOR LIVESTOCK.
  • Covers Accidental Physical Loss or Damage to or
    unexpected deterioration of the goods, including
  • Strikes riots and civil commotions
  • Malicious damage
  • For transits by sea the policy further covers
  • Jettison, washing overboard or General Average
    sacrifice.
  • General Average and salvage contributions
  • War whilst the goods are on board the carrying
    vessel or aircraft.

NOMINATED CLIENTS HOW MUCH WILL WE PAY
  • We will pay the claimant, or other
    parties agreed with the
    claimant, the lesser of
  • what it costs to repair or reinstate the goods
    to a condition similar to that prior to the loss,
    or
  • the invoice value, or
  • if there is no invoice value, the cost of
    replacing the goods with goods of the same age
    and condition or as near as possible thereto.

    agreed with the claimant
  • Legal Liability for damage to shipping
    containers 20,000
  • The cost of reconditioning / replacing damage
    labels or packaging if the loss or damage only
    relates to damaged labels or packaging.

NOMINATED CLIENTS HOW MUCH WILL WE PAY
  • If we do agree to pay a claim based on the
    aforementioned perils we will also pay the
    following additional benefits
  • Cleaning up or decontaminating of your premises
    following the return of salvaged goods, including
    disposal costs - up to 25,000
  • Clean up and disposal costs at accident site -
    up to 25,000
  • Reasonable costs to avoid or minimise loss or
    damage.

CARRIERS LIABILITY COVER is only available to
those carriers who have Consignment Notes and/or
contracts containing terms, conditions and
exclusions that are approved by us, and who
endeavour to have consignment notes signed or
their contract terms imposed as a continuing
standard management practice. Once your
consignment note conditions and contract terms
are approved by us, we do not exclude or reduce
cover if a consignment note is not signed or
issued.

CARRIERS LIABILITY
  • If you elect not to claim under Goodwill or
    Nominated Clients and wish us to defend your
    legal liability, or you have selected Carriers
    Liability Cover only then this policy covers you
    if an Australian Court finds, or we accept, you
    are legally liable to pay compensation for
  • the amount awarded against you in respect
    of physical loss or damage to the
    goods carried
  • the claimants legal expenses awarded
  • your legal defence costs up to 250,000
  • any interest awarded
  • removal of debris or clean up costs
  • any other charges awarded against you.
