• Need to hire right people to start
• Instill in the followers core values of
  organization
• give followers clear goal
• Explain to followers expectations
• Provide them with resources
• Hold them accountable

• Push decision making down to those who are
  closest to customer or activity
• people closest to the levels know strengths
  weaknesses better
• Do not be afraid to make mistakes
• Encourage changes
• Create many leaders share the burden
• Inspired followers create more energy

• Honesty is fundamental to leaders credibility
• Leaders must communicate what they do/do not know
• Must be personally credible
• Must have organizational credibility

• Leaders need to not only talk the talk but also
  walk the walk
• Leaders must have own belief systems
• Do not play games of manipulation - be simple
  transparent
• Integrity is a slow, consistent never-ending
  process
