• How to prevent your poultry from being infected
  by Avian Influenza?
• General Hygiene of coops is important
• Spray with disinfectant in and around the chicken
  coops
• Proper vaccination of domestic poultry is
  necessary.
• Use separate shoes for entering chicken coup.
• Use chicken wire with small mesh so that smaller
  animals and birds could not enter the chicken
  coup.
• Avoid direct contact with dead poultry/birds/feces
  . If contact is really necessary, use gloves and
  mask and protective clothes and wash body hands
  with soap.
• Avoid generating dust when burying dead birds or
  their feces. Spraying or sprinkle water dampens
  the area first.
• If you find sick or dying birds (of any species)
  in your neighborhood, report it to the nearest
  Provincial Agriculture/ Veterinarian Department
  soon.

  something.
• Wash your hands before handling food and often
  during food preparation, and after going to the
  toilet
• Make sure the egg and chicken meat is well-cooked
• Do not eat sick chicken
• Do not eat half cooked meat. (chicken, duck etc.)
• Dont eat raw eggs or soft-boiled eggs.
• Dont by eggs that have cracked shells or have
  dirt, feces or feathers on them. Wash eggs
  thoroughly before cooking.
• Separate raw poultry meat from other foods during
  food preparation.
• If you find sick or dying birds (of any species)
  in your neighborhood, report it to the nearest
  Provincial Agriculture/ Veterinarian Department
