WELCOME!
  • Were glad youre here!

  • Activities

3
Question
  • Why do some classrooms begin with a number 1 and
others begin with a number 2?

4
Answer
  • All East Wing (6th grade side) rooms begin with
the number one West Wing (7/8th grade side)
rooms begin with the number two.
  • Students may go outside to travel between wings
at the change of class. If you need to go
between wings during class time, it is best to
use the hallway that connects the two wings.

5
Question
  • What is the Activity Period and when will it
    start?

6
Answer
  • The activity period gives students the
opportunity to build on an established skill or
try something out for the first time
  • An activity offerings guide will be given to
    students later in the year.
  • Students will be placed in activities on a first
come, first serve basis. Returning your form
quickly will increase the chances that you will
be placed in the activity of your choice.

7
Question
  • What are the cafeteria expectations?

8
Answer
  • Students are expected to clean up after
themselvesdispose of trash, clean up spills and
push chairs in upon leaving the cafeteria.
  • We will go to recess outside each day (weather
permitting). In some cases, going outside wont
be an option, and we will use the gym if it is
    available.
  • When outside, students are permitted to play
basketball, touch football in the field, four
square, jump rope or hang out with friends.
  • Students are not permitted to walk or run through
the landscaped areas of the playground.

9
Question
  • What is the policy regarding attendance?

10
Answer
  • Regular attendance is key to academic success.
If you are too sick to come to school, we ask
that your parent call our attendance line and
report the absence before 745 a.m. Our school
has attendance limits students missing more
than 10 days from a semester course or 20 days
from a year course may jeopardize receiving a
    grade for the course.

11
Question
  • What is the procedure for getting make up work
    when Im absent?

12
Answer
  • All teachers post their homework assignments on
Blackboard this is the best place to find out
what you may have missed when absent from school.
  • There may be handouts or other materials not
available to students on Blackboard. In these
cases, we ask that a student be out for two or
more days before making a request for make-up
work. Parents must pick up the work by 345.
  • It is the students responsibility to find out
what he or she missed when absent from school.

13
Question
  • What do I do if I need to leave school early for
    a doctors appointment?

14
Answer
  • Parents are asked to write a note and send it
with their child in the morning. The note should
be brought to the office and given to one of the
secretaries. The student will receive a pass to
leave class at the appointed time. Students
should show their pass to their teacher before
leaving the building to meet their parent in the
    parking lot.

15
Question
  • What should I do if Im going to miss school for
several days in a row? I dont want to get
    behind on my work.

16
Answer
  • Have your parent write a note to office providing
the dates and reason for absence along with a
request for the work. If the absence is
approved, you will be given a form to present to
your teachers requesting make-up work. The work
is due upon return to school.

17
Question
  • What happens if Im tardy to school or to class?

18
Answer
  • School starts at 735 students who arrive after
740 should report to the office.
  • Students have five minutes to change classes.
  • Once a student has accumulated 3 tardies to any
one class or 7 tardies total, consequences will
be assigned. Each tardy after 3 to any given
class or after 7 total will result in additional
    consequences

19
Question

20
Answer
  • Our main purpose as a school is to provide
students with an education. Students must avoid
styles of dress or grooming which takes away from
    that purpose. Students must

openings in the clothing is not permitted.

below the length of the fingertips when the
students arms are extended straight down at
their side. Pants that drag the floor or have
    unnecessary attachments are not permitted.

22
Answer
  • Students must wear shirts with sleeves that cover
their shoulders. Shirts must be long enough to
tuck in and cover the midriff when the students
arm(s) are raised above their head (i.e. as when
students hand is raised to ask/answer a question
    in a classroom setting).

Answer
  • Students must
  • Not wear hats in the building
  • Not wear any article of clothing that is
    distasteful by language or sign

appropriate waist level. Sheer shorts, halter
tops, spaghetti straps, and midriff cut/or low
cut tee shirts are also not permitted.

24
Answer
  • Clothing should be modest, not skimpy or
over-revealing and must cover the shoulders,
    back, midriff, cleavage and undergarments.

25
Answer
  • A student in violation of the dress code will be

are in compliance with the code
