  • The University
  • North Carolina State University is located in the
    heart of Raleigh, the states capital, is 30
    minutes from Duke University and UNC-Chapel Hill.
    It is a great area, with lots to do. NC State
    University is home to 35,000 students, and offers
    a variety of schools and degrees. For
    information on degree programs, admission
    requirements, or to request an application please

  • The Squad
  • NC State, NCA Grand National Champions in 2001,
    has 4 National Titles. Their teams are composed
    of two squads, Red Team and White Team. Red Team
    cheers for home and away football games, Mens
    basketball and competes at Nationals. White Team
    cheers for home football games and Womens
    basketball. Squad sizes vary, but typically
    consist of but are not limited to 10 - 12 males
    and females per team.

Tryout Requirements To tryout everyone must brin
g a current physical (less than one year old)
and do the following Standing back tuck and toe
touch back tuck. Stunting Positions The above
standing tumbling and two optional stunts. One
stunt must include a 720 dismount. Stunts will be
performed with current NC State Cheerleaders.
Tumbling Positions The above standing tumbling,
a toss shoulder stand, a standing pass through
to a full and 2 running passes including a
variety of elite elements (ex. punch front, front
handspring, arabian, 1 ½ or multiple spinning
elements in series) These spaces are limited.
I encourage you to submit a video demonstrating
the skills listed for the positions above prior
to tryouts. You may also include any other skills
that demonstrate your talent (ex. cheer, dance,
etc.). For the Strength of the P
ack is the Wolf And the Strength of the Wolf is
the Pack.
  • Tryout Dates
  • 2006 Spring Tryouts will be held in Carmichael
    Gymnasium in the Gymnastics facility.
  • April 28th 6-9pm - Optional Tryout Clinic (25)
  • April 29th 10-1pm and 3-6pm
  • April 30th 10-1pm and 3-6pm
  • Incoming Freshman and transfer students can
    tryout in the Spring but must have already
    applied to the University. Everyone must have a
    current physical.
  • 2006 Fall Tryouts will be held in Carmichael
    Gymnasium in the Gymnastics facility. In
    September
  • Must be a full time student (admitted in to the
    University and taking 12 hours of classes) with a
    current physical. (Less than 1 year old)
  • Mascot Tryouts
  • Tryouts will be held the same time as cheer
    tryouts. Tryouts consist of a skit prop work.
