2Procedures for Beginning Class
3Roll Call
- Roll will be checked at the ring of the bell.
- Please stay seated and quiet while attendance is
being checked.
4Tardy Students
- Class will not stop for late students.
- Catching up is the students responsibility.
- Speak to me after class for any clarifications,
or to give excuse for tardiness.
5Taking up and Distributing Materials
- Allow students to assist in passing out or
turning in of papers. - When working in groups, a representative from
each group will get supplies as well as put them
away five minutes before the class bell.
6Getting Ready to Start the Day
- An overhead will be in place with warm-up
problems ready to go at start of class. - Students are to come to class with all necessary
materials and begin working on these problems
when they enter the classroom.

8Procedures Related to Instructional Activities
9Student Movement
- While the teacher is talking, the students are to
remain in their seats. - After instruction, students are allowed to leave
seats to sharpen pencils, gather materials or put
away materials.
10Signal for Student Attention
- The teacher raises hand, and the students are to
do the same to acknowledge request for attention. - Teacher will ring a bell to signal attention if
the students are working in groups.
11Heading For Papers
- The heading will in the upper right hand corner
as follows

12Student Talking
- Teacher will provide opportunity for students to
participate in class discussions. - Students must raise their hand and be called on
before talking. - When working in groups, talk quietly.
- No talking during exams and quizzes.
- No shouting.
13When Work is Complete
- Students are to have a book to read when they
finish their assignments. - Magazines and books are available on the
reference shelf for students who need reading
materials.
14Procedures Regarding Room Areas
15Supply Cabinet
- The supplies in the supply cabinet are there for
your use, but only when required for group
projects. - Supply cabinet must be left clean and neat at the
end of class time. - Please let me know if any materials are missing,
damaged or need replenishing.
16Bookshelves
- All books may be checked out for one class period
for student use in projects. - Books may also be read during class time at the
discretion of the teacher.
17Computers
- Computers will only be used during research or
project time. - All computer usage is monitored by the teacher
and improper use of the computers will be handled
according to school policy.
18Procedures for Ending Class
- Return all classroom materials to their proper
place. All laptops must be returned to storage
cabinet. All magazines and reference books must
be NEATLY returned to reference shelf. - Straighten desks, take all personal belongings
with you and put all trash in the trash can. - Class is dismissed at the ring of the bell.
Please make an effort to complete all tasks
before this time. - Be RESPONSIBLE with classroom materials. Please
let me know if you see any damaged books or
laptops. Be courteous with classmatesdont hog
the materials!
19Last, but not least...
During a fire drill stay calm, stop what you are
working on, leave your belongings where they are
and walk in a single file line down the hallway.
Please make sure that you have all your necessary
materials with you before you come to class.
Make an effort to visit the restroom and water
fountain between classes. I will allow
individual students to visit the restroom or
water fountain with a hall pass.
The substitute folder is on my desk in the Social
Studies teachers office. It can be found in my
Classroom Procedures and Routines binder. If this
is a planned absence, I will have assignments and
notes for each class period. Otherwise, I will
call in assignments.
