Title: What if the Resurrection never happened Mark 16:18
1What if the Resurrection never happened?Mark
161-8
2Apostle Paul If there is no resurrection, Lets
feast and get drunk, for tomorrow we die!(I
Corinthians 1532b)
3The Resurrection is vitally important for many
reasons.
4Jesus kept his promise to rise from the dead, so
we can believe he will keep all his other
promises.
5The Resurrection ensures that the ruler of Gods
eternal kingdom will be the living Christ, not
just an idea, hope or dream. (I Corinthians
1524-28)
6Christs resurrection gives us the assurance that
we also will be resurrected. (I Corinthians
1520)
But the fact is that Christ has been raised from
the dead. He has become the first of a great
harvest of those who will be raised to life again
7The power of God that brought Christs body back
from the dead is available to us to bring our
morally and spiritually dead selves back to life
so that we can change and grow. (Romans 61-4)
8Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God
can show us more and more kindness and
forgiveness? Of course not! Since we have died to
sin, how can we continue to live in it? Or have
you forgotten that when we became Christians and
were baptized to become one with Christ Jesus, we
died with him? For we died and were buried with
Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised
from the dead by the glorious power of the
Father, now we also may live new lives
9The Resurrection provided the substance of the
churchs witness to the world. We do not merely
tell lessons from the life of a good teacher we
proclaim the reality of the resurrection of Jesus
Christ. (Acts 121-22)
10Acts 121-22 - So now we must choose another man
to take Judas's place. It must be someone who has
been with us all the time that we were with the
Lord Jesus - from the time he was baptized by
John until the day he was taken from us into
heaven. Whoever is chosen will join us as a
witness of Jesus' resurrection
