2- Dear Resident,
- It is a sad fact that these days there is a
general lack of respect for people and their
belongings and unfortunately Oxhey, like many
other areas, is experiencing a rise in
anti-social behaviour. - However, by working together we can make a real
difference. Were not asking residents to
approach culprits, just to spend a few minutes
to pick up the phone and report what is going on
in our community. It is all too easy to be
cynical and think why bother? However, police
and council resources are directed to areas where
the highest number of incidents are reported. - By making this stand we also give the message
that our community will NOT TOLERATE anti-social
behaviour. - Our plan is as follows
Consult with the Police, the anti-social
behaviour team, councillors and
residents. Action Meetings are now taking
place on a regular basis. Collate using
information from police reports, identify hot
spots and key issues. Action Reports are
being reviewed at the above meetings. These
include all incidents reported by residents
through the non emergency incident
hotline Publicise using posters, flyers, OVEG
website to keep residents informed.. Action
Posters will be displayed around the village and
flyers will be delivered to residents within
the next couple of weeks Implement Develop
action plans and put these in place. Action
Stop search patrols. Tackle underage
drinking by confiscating purchases and test
purchasing Report via newsletters, posters,
websites and other publications. Action The
OVEG website and newsletter and council
publications will provide regular updates to
residents.
SEE IT, REPORT IT - If it isnt reported, it
cant be stopped. 0845 33 00 222 Please do not
assume someone else will report an incident. If
you see something please pick up the phone. The
more reports the police receive, the more
seriously antisocial behaviour will be taken.
If you witness an incident actually taking place
or in an emergency please call 999
