Religious Principles

• The Boy Scouts of America believes that no member
  can grow into the best kind of citizen without
  recognizing an obligation to God. The Venturing
  Oath helps Venturers develop a sense of spiritual
  awareness as they promise to do their duty to
  God.

How can we incorporate into Venturing?

• Service at campsites
• Sunrise service at scenic location
• Evening vespers at scenic location
• Grace before meals
• Quiet, meditative time alone
• Not all faiths worship on Sunday

Planning a Scouts Own

• Consider age-appropriateness of all content.
• Choose a location that promotes reverence.
• Consider peoples physical comfort.
• Include everyone planning and during.
• Short 15 to 20 minutes.
• Teach Venturers to respect the rights and
  feelings of others.
• Choose inspirational passages.
