learned how to learn . . . they know how
knowledge is organized, how to find information,
and how to use information in such a way that
others can learn from them. They are people
prepared for lifelong learning." Such students
are able to recognize when information is needed
and have the ability to locate, evaluate and use
effectively the needed information.

- Activities must result in a statement of
information competence as a required learning
outcome for the degree program - Activities must result in assessments that
certify that a student has met the information
literacy requirement - An appropriate member of the library faculty must
play an integral role in the project activities - Specified learning outcomes must be consistent
with the ACRL standards on information literacy

Hurricane in your binder. Your broad topic is
Hmong. Using your imagination, and any library
resources you choose (i e. library catalog,
subject headings, encyclopedias, Web, write down
a number of subtopics or areas of interest to you
related to the Hmong. When you are finished,
