4- KAPULO PROJECT
- Strategic Joint Venture with Anvil Mining
- Approximately 5,500km2 of contiguous tenure in
DRC and Zambia - MWE can earn 65 by spending US4 million over
four years - MWE can earn 51 by spending US2.7 million or
defining a JORC compliant indicated resource of
50,000t of copper at 4 - whichever comes first
5- Strategic agreement with Anvil allows MWE to work
under Anvils Dikulushi Mining Convention.
Potential fast track to production - DRC Government has established a modern Mining
Code under the guidance of the World Bank has
improved significantly the investment climate for
mineral exploration and mining - Some of the worlds major resource companies are
investing in new projects in the DRC eg Phelps
Dodge - Tenke Fungurume - (547Mt_at_3.5 Cu, 0.27
Co)
6- MINERALISATION
- Numerous copper occurrences and at least one
identified gold occurrence within the project
area - Approximately 130km of strike along the regional
Kapulo Shear Zone which hosts the Kapulo copper
deposits (and many other Cu occurrences) - The Kapulo Copper deposits comprise three main
zones Katanga, Safari North and Safari South - Recent channel and rock chip sampling by MWE
confirmed the very high-grade nature of the
deposits with 8m _at_ 11 Cu and over 30 Cu in rock
samples
7- Kapulo Copper Deposits
- The deposits are hosted in coarse grained
Katangan sediments close to faulted contact with
the Benguelan granite in the east - Main primary sulphide mineral is chalcopyrite,
with varying amounts of chalcocite, bornite and
on average grades from 5-7 Cu. Oxide enrichment
has formed cuprite, native copper, azurite, and
malachite with grades up to 31 Cu - RESOURCE
- Explored by Simikat, Seremi, and Falconbridge,
during the 1920s, 1950s, and 1970s, respectively - They calculated open ended resources (along
strike and down dip) between 750,000t _at_ 4.7 Cu
and 850,000t _at_ 5.8 Cu, to approx 50m depth
(Approx 50,000Cu tonnes) - Estimates based on digging and systematic
sampling of 386m of pits, 924m of open-cuts,
4,168m of drifts and eight diamond drill holes
totaling 2,055m - Disclaimer Due to the age of the exploration
work the potential quantity and grade is of a
conceptual nature, and as such cannot be used to
define a Mineral Resource under the JORC Code. It
is uncertain if further exploration will result
in the determination of a Mineral Resource
8- POTENTIAL
- Kapulo deposits open ended in all directions.
Katanga deposit intersected in one deeper
vertical drillhole 15m_at_4 Cu from 125m - Approx 130km of strike along regional fault zone
hosting numerous other copper occurrences within
the project area. Also other stratabound and vein
style Cu and gold occurrences - Potential to host very significant copper tonnes
9- DEVELOPMENT
- Preliminary scoping studies and metallurgical
work undertaken by prior explorers. No
metallurgical issues identified. - Strategic Partner (Anvil) already operating the
high-grade Dikulushi Cu-Ag mine 130km to the
southwest. - Anvil has established tried and tested
concentrate supply route to market - Equity interest to be held in trust for local
community. Similar arrangement at Anvils
Dikulushi mine has proven success - Infrastructure and development continues to grow
with majors committing to mining projects in the
DRC - Attractive investment terms for foreign companies
10- KAPULO INVESTMENT HIGHLIGHTS
- Advanced high-grade copper project with
open-ended non-JORC resources, potential fast
track to production - Numerous other copper and gold occurrences for
substantial resource expansion potential - Large 5,500km2 contiguous under-explored ground
position - Established concentrate transportation methods,
so low capex reqts - Strategic Joint Venture Partner Anvil Mining
- Exposure to mineral investment hot-spot
- Low mkt cap, focused and experienced management
team, incl. DRC experience
