• China alone accounts for one third of world
  production, and China is the worlds major
  exporter since 2002
  
• East and SE Asia is an important fish exporting

  Asian countries is still underdeveloped
  
• 19 of the South Asian exports go to other Asian

• Plenty of opportunities for intra-regional trade
• fish consumption already high in Asia, but could
  still increase, based on higher incomes
  
• China is not only a top producer and exporter,
  but also a good market
