Title: Common Problems Affecting the Radiator of your Car

1
Common Problems Affecting the Radiator of Your Car
2
The radiator of your car is vital for the
efficient working of the engine and drivers often
report encountering problems with the radiator
system of their car.
3
However, you shouldn't get complacent due to the
nature of the problem and besides, if the issue
is not sorted out immediately, then it will
affect the engine.
4
There are several issues associated with the
radiator system of your car. Let us have a look
at them.
5
Clogged radiator
6
A clogged radiator is one the most common issue
that drivers have to deal with and the radiator
may get blocked due to the accumulation of dirt,
dead insects and loose debris such as stones.
7
You need to inspect the radiator for any signs
of blockage because as this happens, then the
flow of air through the radiator gets clogged
leading to engine overheating.
8
Whenever you open the radiator cap check it and
the fluid for any brown color, or suspended
particulate in the coolant like debris and if you
detect anything, then your radiator is clogged.
9
Thermostat malfunctioning
10
The thermostat allows the coolant to circulate
inside the radiator and a malfunctioning
thermostat will always lead to engine overheating.
11
If the thermostat is stuck in the closed
position or is blocked due to the presence of
debris, consequently the flow of the coolant gets
obstructed.
12
The thermostat doesn't belong to the radiator
system but it functions like a valve, which
determines the amount of coolant that should flow
into and out of the radiator.
13
Radiator leaks
14
The hosepipes are vulnerable to wear and tear
that is why they should be replaced from
time-to-time as faulty ruptured hosepipes are
responsible for causing leaks in the radiator.
15
The hose pipes are pretty important because they
link the radiator to the engine, which allows for
the smooth flow of the coolant in between them.
16
The hoses are made up of rubber and due to the
extreme heat created they are prone to failure
and you can easily detect any issues in the hose
pipes by looking under the car.
17
Formation of rust
18
As the coolant loses its ability to prevent rust
when it gets old this allows the rust to form and
consequently damage the internal components of
the car.
19
You can easily detect the formation of rust by
checking the color of the coolant and if the
appearance of the coolant is brown, then the
radiator has rusted from the inside.
20
Furthermore, you must immediately replace the
radiator because if the issue gets prolonged,
then it has the potential to critically damage
the other parts of the car.
21
Conclusion
22
From our above discussion, it can be concluded
that the radiator plays a very crucial role in
the dissipation of heat from the engine.
23
Whenever you experience any issues with the
radiator of your car, then take the car to an
automotive shop to fix the issue.
