Cataract causes blurriness and sometimes vision
loss. There is a controversy about whether
cataracts can be prevented or not. Many studies
offer that certain nutrients may reduce risk of
cataracts. One large study showed that high
dietary intakes of vitamin E and carotenoids
lutein and zeaxanthin significantly decreased
risks of cataract. So it is recommended to eat
food that contains them like sunflower seeds,
almonds, spinach, kale and other leafy
vegetables. Other studies have shown that vitamin
C and food that contains omega 3 acids reduce
cataract risks too. Another way to prevent
cataracts is to wear sunglasses that protect you
from UV rays when you are outdoor.
