  • High 5 attention signal was established at the
    beginning of this school year.

someone raising their hand that they should also
raise their hand quietly and wait for

Bus Awards
  • Each week our bus drivers select one student from
their bus who has exhibited positive behavior.
That student is recognized on the morning
announcements, given a certificate, and a small
    prize.

15
Citizen of the Month
  • Each month every classroom teacher at Hubbard
selects one child for the Citizen of the Month
Award. The childrens pictures are then placed
on a bulletin board in the school lobby. In
addition, the child also receives a prize for
being the Citizen of the Month.

16
End of the Year Award Ceremonies
  • In years past, Hubbard has always held
Kindergarten and 5th grade award ceremonies.
This year our PBS Team decided to establish an
awards ceremony for every grade level. We also
worked on what awards would be given to establish
    consistency across our school.

17
Staff Rewards and Morale
  • Hubbard Achiever Award
  • Staff members pass on the Achiever Award trophy
each week to someone on our staff who has
exhibited Hubbard Pride or have been helpful in
    an extraordinary way.

18
Staff Rewards and Morale
  • Out to-Lunch
  • Part of our PBS initiative this year has been to
increase our staff morale. In an effort to do
that, we established a monthly Out-to-Lunch
schedule. This allows each grade level to leave
campus on their assigned day for an hour and a
half to enjoy lunch with their co-workers.

once a week and teach character education to our
    student body.

22
Morning Announcements and PBS
  • Our guidance counselors also share words of
wisdom from Project Wisdom each day on the
morning announcements. These words of wisdom
align with what they are teaching each week
    through character education
  • We also state our 3 Rs every morning on the
announcements to help remind our students to Be
Ready, Be Responsible and Be Respectful.

23
PBS Staff Communication

  • Staff Meeting updates
  • Staff Development Sessions
  • Expanded PBS Team

24
PBS Staff Surveys
  • After conducting our first survey as required by
our training our PBS Team developed our own
surveys to provide the information we were
    looking for.
  • Since the initial survey was conducted we have
    completed two more staff surveys.

25
PBS Staff Development
  • Our PBS Team has presented several staff
development sessions in our Teacher s Meetings
  • These sessions include an opening session
explaining our school-wide systems, a classroom
management session, monthly updates on data and
reminders of our school-wide rules and procedures.

26
Challenges Faced
  • During our first year of implementation there
    have been many challenges.
  • Consistency with our teachers and staff
  • Lack of funding for our reward systems

27
Meeting Our Challenges
  • In order to maintain consistency our PBS Team
    has
  • Developed a checklist for teachers
  • Reviewed procedures for the card system and
    office referrals in Staff Meetings
  • Encouraged and rewarded staff members who are
    consistent.

28
Meeting Our Challenges
  • In order to secure funding for our reward systems
    our PBS Team has
  • Presented our needs to our PTO and secured funds
for next years reward system to include dog tags
along with what we already have in place.
  • Inspired our PTO to start their own efforts to
    support our PBS initiative.

29
Bicycle Contest
  • Our PTO is sponsoring a contest to reward
children for their good behavior. Every child
who stays on their blue card all week will be
